Bun Mee
While the Pacific Heights branch of Charles Phan's Out the Door continues to be a popular ticket on Bush Street, another Vietnamese eatery has popped up around the corner.
Bun Mee is a more casual cafe, specializing in ‐ what else? ‐ banh mi sandwiches (see today's cover story). Owner Denise Tran gives local twists to the sandwich, along with unique approaches such as the Vietnamese riff on a sloppy Joe sandwich: curry ground pork, shaved onion, aioli and Thai basil.
2015 Fillmore St. (near California), San Francisco; (415) 800‐7697 or bunmee.co. Lunch and dinner daily.
